Biography


Dr. Ankit Rajpal is currently serving as an Associate Professor of Computer Science at the Cluster Innovation Centre (CIC), University of Delhi, on lien from the Department of Computer Science, where he served as an Assistant Professor from November 2020 to March 2026. He holds a Ph.D. in Image and Video Watermarking from the University of Delhi and is a patent holder for a video watermarking tool developed for MPEG-4 AVC videos. His research contributions have earned four research publication awards, and he has successfully completed multiple research projects. His research interests include Artificial Intelligence in Medical Diagnosis, Explainable Machine Learning, Computational Biology, and Image and Video Watermarking. He has published numerous research papers in reputed international journals and conference proceedings. Dr. Rajpal began his teaching career in July 2009 as an Associate Lecturer at Royal Thimphu College, Royal University of Bhutan. He subsequently taught at Deen Dayal Upadhyaya College, University of Delhi, gaining over 11 years of undergraduate teaching experience between July 2009 and November 2020. His academic contributions include student mentoring, curriculum design, and the development of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. He has also co-authored books aligned with the CBSE-prescribed syllabi for Computer Science and Informatics Practices. He completed his M.Sc. and B.Sc. (Hons.) in Computer Science from the University of Delhi. Beyond teaching and research, Dr. Rajpal contributes to academic governance, institutional development, and educational reforms. He serves on the NEP Implementation and Monitoring Committee, the Annual Report Editorial Committee, and the Academic Panel for Academic Affairs, and contributes to the Digital Enabler initiative under the Institutional Development Plan. Through these roles, he supports the implementation of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, the enhancement of academic quality, institutional reporting, and digital transformation in higher education. He also contributes to faculty capacity building through faculty development programmes, MOOCs, and workshops for computer science educators across schools and colleges. Through his sustained engagement in teaching, research, academic administration, and educational initiatives, Dr. Rajpal is committed to strengthening computer science education and fostering innovation in higher education.
