1. Basic Cake
Ingredients:
Eggs - 4
All purpose Flour - 1 Cup
Powdered Sugar - 1 Cup
Cocoa Powder - 1 tsp
Butter/Oil - 1 Cup
Baking Powder - 1/4 tsp
Milk - 1/4 Cup
Method :
Tips -- One can also add chocolate pieces, walnuts, pista or any other dry fruits on the top before setting to bake
- Break 4 eggs in a container and mix them well with a hand mixer or with big spoon till it gets fluffy.
- Add powdered sugar and semi-molten butter to the eggs and mix again.
- In another flat container, seive together the 1/4 tsp of baking powder and 1 cup flour and keep aside.
- In a little luke warm milk, add the cocoa powder and make a smooth paste.
- Add the flour to the container with eggs+sugar+butter and mix very lightly.
- Add the cocoa paste (or any other flavours like vanilla essence) at the end and mix again.
- Grease a baking pan with little oil and sprinkle flour over it.
- Add the batter to the baking pan.
- Preheat the oven for 10 mins and then put the pan inside and bake on medium temperature for 30-40 mins.
2. Apple Cake
Ingredients:
Fresh Apples - 2
All purpose Flour - 1 Cup
Powdered Sugar - 1 Cup
Cinnamon powder - 1 tsp
Fresh Cream/Butter/Oil - 1 Cup
Baking Powder - 1 tsp
Baking Soda - 1/2 tsp
Milk/Yogurt - 1/2 Cup
Salt - 1/2 tsp
Walnuts - 2 tbsp
Raisins - 2 tbsp
Method :
Tips -- Before Serving, heat the cake pieces in an oven so that it is warm and crispy.
- Grate the apples and keep aside. Sprinkle lemon juice on it to avoid the oxidisation.
- In another flat container, seive together the 1 tsp of baking powder, 1/2 tsp of baking soda, 1 tsp of cinnamon powder and 1 cup flour and keep aside.
- Mix powdered sugar with semi-molten butter/cream and a little milk/yogurt with a hand mixer and keep aside.
- First put a small quantity of sugar+butter+milk mixture in a mixing bowl and then add a small quantity of flour+baking powder+soda+cinnamon powder and mix well. Then add a small quantity of grated apples and mix.
- Repeat the above step with remaining quantity of things left (in 2 steps) one by one in same order, but in the last round, add flour only in the end.
- Grease a baking pan with little oil and sprinkle flour over it.
- Add the batter to the baking pan.
- Add big pieces of walnuts on the top sinking a little in batter and put the raisins deep inside by using finger tips so that they donot get burnt before setting to bake.
- Preheat the oven for 10 mins at 200 degrees and then put the pan inside and bake on medium temperature for 30-40 mins.
