For Google !!

Go to URL http://www.google.com/webmasters/tools and login A welcome screen with heading Dashboard will appear. In this page a box is given to add your site. Now, an Overview page comprising of verifying of your site will appear. Clicking on Verify your site hyperlink will direct you to another page where you will have an option to verify is specified. If you are using meta tag method then you need to add meta tag as follows: Place meta tag after the <head> tag and before the </head> tag          <html>           <head>              <meta name="verify-v1" content="xxxxxx####111111*****" />              <title> My title </title>            </head>            <body>               page contents            </body>          </html>     If you are using upload HTML file method then:     Create the HTML verification file specified on the webpage like:         google------------------.html     To create the google------------------.html, create a notepad file and place the contents said above     and save the file in All Files mode and name as google------------------.html.     Then, upload it to main folder of your website (viz. where your index.html/ index.htm/ default.html is placed)     Then click the verify tab. Once verified then add sitemap to your site     The file format is sitemap.xml and contents of the same are as follows:      <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>

</urlset>      To create the sitemap.xml, create a notepad file and place the contents said above      and save the file in All Files mode and name as sitemap.xml.      Firstly, upload sitemap.xml to main folder of your website (viz. where your index.html/ index.htm/ default.html is placed)      Click on the add a sitemap hyperlink and then choose type will appear and select your option as Add a General Web Sitemap.      Write the file name sitemap.xml in option 3 and Upload to Google website clicking the tab Add a General Web Sitemap.      This complete your submitting of website on Google website.

For Yahoo !!

Go to URL http://siteexplorer.search.yahoo.com/ and login
A Yahoo Site Explorer webpage will appear. In this page a box is given to add your site.
     Now in the status column a tab showing authenticate will appear. Click the tab.
     To authenticate your site ownership, you can either add a META tag to your home page,
     or upload a verification file to your site, please follow the instructions below.
To upload a verification file to your site,
Download an authentication key (DO NOT change the file name or content).
     If you have a problem with downloading the authentication key,
then create a text file named y_key_----------------.html,
then put this string xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx into the file.
Upload the verification file at the root level of your site directory.
When the file is uploaded, please click the button Ready to Authenticate.
Yahoo will authenticate your site within 24 hours.
To add a META tag to your home page,
Copy the META tag listed below and paste it in your site's home page
in the first <HEAD> section of the page, before the first <BODY> section.
