Research and other Academic Interests:

Though I started research and completed my thesis work in fabrication and characterization of phase change optical memories based on chalcogenide based alloys, I have shifted now to the field of Nanoparticles of II-VI semiconductor compounds (mainly CdTe and CdSe).

Collaborative work with Prof. P.K.Bhatnagar (promod48@rediffmail.com ) (material Science research group ) at the Deptt. Of Electronic Science, UDSC, Dhaula Kuan, New Delhi , is going. Currently, our group is involved in the fabrication of quantum dots in Borosilicate glass matrix. I also have completed an independent project from UGC where work is also going on for theoretical modeling for thermal profiles of the material when irradiated with lasers. Finite difference method is used for the purpose.

A program has also been made in C, using X-Windows (linux) to plot 2D-graphs for in-situ theoretical modeling i.e. this program can be called as a subroutine by any Fortran or C program.

I have the experience of working on high energy beam line at SSRL (Stanford Synchrotron research Lab) with Prof. Tim Hayes and Prof. Peter Persans of RPI, Troy , NY US . (http://www.rpi.edu/) This was for the purpose of doing EXAFS studies on CDS and CdSe quantum dots.

I am also involved in the completion of a book with Mac Millan, in Experimental Electronics for undergraduate courses in Electronics.

I have worked in the R&D group for Continental Devices India Ltd based at Naraina, New Delhi , for 18 months in the field of quality assurance of diodes and transistors.
