Dr. Savita Sharma
She has done both MSc and BSc from University of Delhi. She has joined Prof. Rajeev Gupta as a PhD student in a project Bio-inspired coordination chemistry at University of Delhi, INDIA.
After receiving her PhD degree in 2009, she worked with Dr. Cora E. MacBeth at Emory University as an Post-doctoral fellow. At present, she is working with Prof. Kenneth D. Karlin at John Hopkins University.

Research Interest
- Synthetic models of Heme–Copper oxidases (HCOs, e.g., cytochrome c oxidase,CcO). including detailed studies of molecular oxygen,
nitrogen monoxide (NO, also nitric oxide), and oxygen/nitric-oxide interactions with heme-copper and/or heme chemical systems.
- To elucidate fundamental aspects of such chemistries as relevant to heme/copper oxidases (HCOs, e.g., cytochrome c oxidase, CcO) and
Nitric Oxide Dioxygenases (NOD).
